Nintendo Announces Switch 2 Release Date (Pre-orders) and New Mario Kart Game

Nintendo has officially revealed the release date for its highly anticipated Switch 2, the successor to the wildly popular Switch console. Set to launch on June 5, 2025, the new console comes with exciting upgrades and a fresh Mario Kart experience.

Key Features of the Switch 2

The Switch 2 promises impressive improvements, including better graphics, audio, and a larger 7.9-inch screen with a 1080p display supporting HDR and up to 120fps. The new console will also feature a voice chat button and larger buttons for enhanced gameplay.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa describes the Switch 2 as “a leap forward” from the original, which has sold over 150 million units worldwide. The new device will retail at £395 in the UK, with Mario Kart World bundled at £429.

Mario Kart World, a revamped version of the classic racing game, will be available alongside new titles like Elden Ring and Street Fighter 6.
