NSL 2025: Jhapa FC earned their third consecutive draw in the Nepal Super League (NSL 2025) after scoring a late penalty against FC Chitwan. Nigerian forward Alhaji Gero converted from the spot in injury time to level the game 1-1 and keep Jhapa’s unbeaten run alive.
FC Chitwan Take First-Half Lead
FC Chitwan took the lead in the first half thanks to Torric Jebrin, who scored in back-to-back matches. The goal came after a buildup involving Sumit Shrestha, captain Anjan Bista, and Shishir Lekhi, who provided the assist. Jebrin finished brilliantly with his left foot inside the box.

NSL 2025: Late Drama at the Death
Despite controlling the game for most of the time and holding the lead, Chitwan conceded a late equalizer. In the fifth minute of injury time, Chitwan’s Niraj Chaudhary fouled Aron Thapa inside the box, giving Jhapa a penalty. Alhaji Gero made no mistake from the spot.

Both Teams Still Unbeaten
While both sides remain unbeaten, neither managed to keep a clean sheet. This match marked the first time either team conceded a goal in NSL 2025. Chitwan remain top of the table with 7 points from 3 matches. Jhapa, after three straight draws, sit with 3 points.
Coaches React to Intense Draw
Chitwan coach Nabin Neupane expressed disappointment over the missed win, saying, “It was like having food in your mouth and not being able to swallow it.” He also noted the difficulty of playing with just a one-day gap.
Jhapa coach Prabesh Katuwal also admitted they aimed for all three points but had to settle for a draw. “We’ve only scored one goal in three games, that too from a penalty. It’s an issue,” he said. However, he remains optimistic since the points gap from the top team is still small.
