Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha recently had a memorable encounter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the CNN-News18 Rising Bharat Summit. Sharing glimpses from the event on Instagram, Nushrratt posted a series of pictures and videos, including a heartfelt interaction with the Prime Minister.
In one of the photos, Nushrratt is seen warmly shaking hands with PM Modi. During their conversation, she expressed her gratitude for the government’s efforts in rescuing her from Israel amidst the 2023 conflict. Recalling the moment, PM Modi said, “Bada sankat tha… Accha hua aapne turant message kardiya (It was a big crisis… It was good that you messaged us immediately).”
The conversation took a personal turn when the two spoke briefly in Gujarati, sharing smiles and laughter. Nushrratt concluded the interaction with a respectful namaste to the Prime Minister.
Reflecting on the experience, Nushrratt captioned her post, “Truly honoured and deeply grateful for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the CNN-News18 Rising Bharat Summit! It was an incredible privilege to thank you in person, Modi Ji, for your unwavering leadership and the swift action taken by your government to bring back Indian citizens, including myself, stranded in Israel during the recent conflict.”
She also added a note in Gujarati, “Aap no aa mulakat badal khub khub aabhar. Maari mate aa zindagi bhar ni yaadgir reh se,” meaning she would cherish the meeting for a lifetime.
In 2023, Nushrratt was trapped in Tel Aviv when a violent conflict erupted between Israeli forces and Hamas. Thanks to the swift intervention of Indian officials, she was safely evacuated.
On the professional front, Nushrratt’s latest project, Chhorii 2, directed by Vishal Furia, premiered recently on Prime Video. The sequel to the 2021 horror hit Chhorii stars Nushrratt alongside Soha Ali Khan, Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma. The film delves into themes of folklore, gender inequality, and a mother’s fierce love for her child.
