Former Fin.K.L member Ock Joo Hyun recently spoke out in support of G-Dragon following criticism of his live vocals during his solo concert. On March 31, 2025, the singer took to Instagram to express her sympathy for the BigBang leader, addressing the backlash he received from some concertgoers.
G-Dragon’s much-anticipated return to the stage came with the kickoff of his G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR (Ubermensch) in Korea. The concert, held at the Goyang Sports Complex on March 29 and 30, was his first solo performance in eight years. However, despite the excitement surrounding his comeback, the event faced several challenges. Both nights saw delays due to harsh weather conditions, and when the performances finally proceeded, some attendees voiced disappointment over the singer’s live vocals, leading to a wave of online criticism.
In response, Ock Joo Hyun shared her thoughts on social media, highlighting the difficult environment G-Dragon had to perform in. “After hearing the reactions from the previous night, I dressed as if I were camping under a blanket. Seeing an artist endure such cold air for so long was heartbreaking,” she wrote. She empathized further, acknowledging the difficulty of singing in freezing temperatures. “It’s unimaginable to perform in such conditions. I just wanted to wrap him in a blanket,” she added.
To counter the negative remarks, Ock also posted a clip from the March 31 show, praising G-Dragon’s presence on stage with comments like “Looks great” and “So cool, deadly.”
As of now, G-Dragon has not addressed the criticism publicly, and his agency has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
Following his performances in Korea, G-Dragon is set to bring his tour to several cities across Asia. His next stop will be Tokyo, Japan, on May 10 and 11, 2025, followed by concerts in Manila (Philippines), Osaka (Japan), Macau, Taipei (Taiwan), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Jakarta (Indonesia), and Hong Kong. Renowned for his unique musical style and bold artistic direction, G-Dragon’s tour is expected to be a landmark moment in his career.
