A 72-year-old man died in a fire that broke out in Gauriganga Municipality-10, Jabalpur, Kailali on Sunday night.
The fire started in a two-story wooden barn owned by Anil Chaudhary. His elderly father, Kukru Dagoura Tharu, was sleeping on the upper floor when the blaze occurred. He was burned to death, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranabahadur Chand of Malakheti Area Police Office.
A police team led by Sub-Inspector Khemraj Pant rushed to the scene and managed to control the fire. However, the entire barn was destroyed in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is underway.
