A 65-year-old man named Siyaram Baniya died after being struck by lightning in Garuda Municipality-1, Jaynagar, Rautahat. The incident happened on the morning of Asar 1 when the weather suddenly worsened and it started raining.
Siyaram was outside his house trying to release a tied goat when the lightning hit him. He was seriously injured and taken to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for treatment. Unfortunately, he passed away during treatment.
The police confirmed that after a postmortem examination, Siyaram’s body was handed over to his family.
