The K-pop group OMEGA X remains embroiled in a legal storm as new developments unfold involving their former agency director. The woman, identified only as “A,” has been formally charged and referred to prosecution on multiple counts of workplace molestation and physical assault, following a year-long investigation.
According to Allkpop, A, who is also the wife of Spire Entertainment’s CEO, was sent to the prosecution without detention on May 7, 2025. Authorities imposed a fine of 500,000 KRW for her involvement in the assault case. However, A rejected the penalty and has opted for a formal trial, which is slated to begin in July 2025.
In a show of solidarity, OMEGA X’s current agency, IPQ, voiced strong support for the group, stating,
“The members of OMEGA X stood their ground against injustice and never gave up on their promises to fans. Their story is one of the most powerful and resilient narratives in K-pop today.”
The charges against A include inappropriate and non-consensual physical contact with six members of OMEGA X during various professional engagements. These include incidents that allegedly occurred during their Latin American tour in September 2022 and several meetings at Spire Entertainment’s former Seoul office.
In August 2023, seven of the eleven group members officially filed complaints, citing repeated instances of forced physical contact such as unwanted hugs, arm-grabbing, and other inappropriate behavior—often committed while A was intoxicated.
Reports from MK Korea reveal that police investigations substantiated molestation claims involving six members. However, one specific accusation made by member Hwi Chan was dismissed. In a twist, A had also lodged a counter-complaint against Hwi Chan for harassment, though that complaint was not pursued for prosecution.
Beyond molestation, A is also facing charges of assaulting member Jaehan. This particular incident allegedly occurred in a hotel lobby in Los Angeles in October 2022, where A is said to have forcefully pulled Jaehan’s hood, causing him to fall.
In response to the allegations, OMEGA X terminated their contract with Spire Entertainment in 2023 and signed with their current label, IPQ. The group’s ongoing legal fight has become a significant chapter in their journey, highlighting both the dark side of the entertainment industry and their unwavering determination to protect their dignity and career.
As the trial looms, the K-pop community continues to watch closely, rallying behind OMEGA X as they seek justice and healing.
