In the past 24 hours, various accidents in Chitwan, Bagmati Province, have resulted in one death and 11 injuries. According to statistics provided by the Bagmati Province Police Office, a total of six road accidents occurred in Chitwan in a single day.
According to the provincial police office, on Tuesday, a motorcycle with registration number Ba. Pra. 03-002 Pa 5503 met with an accident on an inner road section while traveling from Bachhauli to Jhuwani. The accident led to the death of the rider, 28-year-old Alok Mahato.
Mahato, a resident of Chitwan Municipality-5, sustained severe injuries in the accident. He was taken to Old Medical College in Bharatpur for treatment, where doctors declared him dead at around 11:30 PM.
Similarly, another accident in Chitwan involved a tractor hitting a motorcycle, injuring the motorcyclist. A tractor with registration number Na 5 Ta 7307, traveling from Dhruva Chowk to Dhakal Chowk, collided with a motorcycle (Na 25 Pa 7131) heading from Bhatt Chowk to Teklal Chowk.
The accident resulted in injuries to 46-year-old Ramhari Thapa of Kalika Municipality-7, Chitwan. He is currently undergoing treatment at Alive Hospital. The police have taken the tractor driver, 25-year-old Ishwar Pariyar from Ratnanagar Municipality-15, into custody.
Another accident in Rampur, Chitwan, on Tuesday at around 7 PM, involved a scooter hitting a bicycle, injuring five people. A scooter (Na 25 Pa 8309) traveling from Rampur to Bharatpur collided with a bicycle moving in the same direction.
The accident injured 23-year-old Bhim Prasad Darai, his wife, and their 5-year-old son. The scooter rider, 40-year-old Narendra Malla of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-5, Chitwan, was also injured. Additionally, Malla’s 6-year-old son, who was riding pillion, sustained minor injuries.
Likewise, on Tuesday, a motorcycle (Na 35 Pa 5424) traveling from Dharma Chowk to Tiger Chowk hit 50-year-old Mankumari Gautam, injuring her. The motorcycle rider, 35-year-old Arjun Rimal of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-5, Naranpur, also sustained minor injuries, according to the Bagmati Provincial Police Office.
In another accident, a motorcycle (Na 45 Pa 8105) collided with a bicycle, injuring the cyclist, 22-year-old Sabir Miya from Bara district, who currently resides in Bharatpur-9, Chitwan. The accident, which occurred at around 9 AM on Tuesday, also injured the motorcycle rider, 48-year-old Kamal Pandit from Bharatpur-7.
Additionally, a woman was injured when a scooter crashed into a parked car in Chitwan on Tuesday. The accident involved a parked car (Ba 16 Cha 8077), which was hit by a scooter (Ba. Pra. 06-001 Pa 2516).
The impact left 70-year-old Sita Lamichhane, a resident of Bharatpur-6, Indrapuri, who was riding pillion on the scooter, with minor injuries, as reported by the police.
