The beloved Indian web series Panchayat has captured hearts over its four seasons, and fans eagerly await Season 5. Alongside growing excitement, curiosity around the actors’ pay and contract details has also risen. Recently, Faisal Malik, who plays Prahlad Cha, spoke about the cast’s salaries and whether their fees rise with each season.
How does the payment process work for Panchayat actors?
While Faisal Malik did not disclose his exact salary, he expressed satisfaction with a simple, “Sab acha hai” . He explained that actors in web series can be paid in different ways — either on a daily basis or via lump sums.
Faisal detailed the common payment structure: salaries are often divided based on the number of days worked. Payments are split into about five instalments spread across the project timeline — some money is paid at contract signing, the start of shooting, mid-shoot, end of shoot, after dubbing, and finally after the show’s release. He noted, “Until the show releases, you don’t get the last payment.”
Do actors get raises based on the show’s success?
When asked if fees increase with a show’s popularity, Faisal clarified that raises happen only if it is written in the contract. “The performance of the show doesn’t really change anything,” he said, adding that he personally included such a clause in his contract.
