Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is set to take a dramatic turn, and at the heart of the upcoming changes is actor Param Singh, who plays the lead role of Neil. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Param opened up about what’s next for the show, how his character is set to evolve, and his experience collaborating with co-stars Vaibhavi Hankare, Bhavika Sharma, and Sanam Johar.
On Working with Vaibhavi Hankare
Reflecting on his on-screen chemistry and off-screen camaraderie with former co-star Vaibhavi Hankare, Param shared,
“Working with Vaibhavi was a fantastic experience. She’s a truly lovely person and is incredibly professional. I found her to be mature, open, straightforward, authentic, creative, and very confident, which are indeed hallmarks of a great artist.”
He added that their rapport extended beyond the script:
“Off-screen, we had a wonderful time because she’s very open, understanding, and encourages frankness, suggestions, and even improvisation. I really enjoyed working with her.”
First Glimpse with New Lead Bhavika Sharma
Though Param and Bhavika Sharma haven’t shared screen time beyond the promo shoot, he expressed enthusiasm about future collaborations:
“We have just shot for the promo, and it’s been a brief conversation so far. We haven’t shot any scenes together yet, so I can’t say much. Having said that, I look forward to working with her.”

What’s Next for Neil?
As the show heads into a major leap, Neil’s character is set for a serious transformation. While the exact trajectory remains under wraps, Param hinted at what lies ahead:
“It’s still quite early in the development process to give you a detailed picture… However, I can say that Neil will undergo a significant transformation, becoming a more hardened and intense individual.”
His emotional arc will deepen further after the loss of his wife, Tejaswini:
“Losing Tejaswini will forge Neil into a man of intense conviction with no timidity in store. He’ll become more vocal, direct, intense and strong. Neil shall head towards melancholy post the leap in my reading so far.”
Dealing with Initial Backlash
Param also addressed the early criticisms his character faced when introduced in the storyline:
“It’s tough to pinpoint one reason, but it could be a combination of factors such as comparisons to established characters and storylines from previous seasons… Art is subjective and I understand that audiences develop strong attachments to existing narratives.”
He acknowledged that acceptance takes time and appreciates the audience’s passion:
“While I was drawn to the character and enjoyed portraying him, I respect that viewers have their own preferences and perspectives.”
Big Changes Ahead
The upcoming episodes will bring a host of changes to the show:
“Several characters will undergo transformations, and some new faces shall be introduced. While it’s sad to say, some characters will also be exiting the show, and hence it shall lead to a notable change in the overall narrative.”
The creative team is still fine-tuning the storyline, but Param assures fans that the direction will be fresh and different from what they’ve seen so far.
Bonding with Sanam Johar
Finally, when asked about his relationship with fellow actor Sanam Johar, Param shared:
“Sanam Johar is fantastic to be around. We’ve developed a really good and fun bond. It’s a professional relationship built on mutual trust.”
The camaraderie between the two actors also stems from their shared Punjabi roots:
“We connect like two Punjabi guys who enjoy a good laugh together but are also serious about our work. He’s a genuinely sweet, respectful and well-mannered person.”
