Amazon Prime Video has officially announced its debut Korean original series, The Confidence Man KR (working title), with acclaimed actress Park Min Young taking on the lead role. This marks a major leap for both the global streaming giant and the actress, as they venture into a new chapter of K-content.
The Confidence Man KR is a Korean remake of the hit Japanese drama The Confidence Man JP. The series will revolve around a trio of brilliant con artists who use their exceptional skills to outwit corrupt elites from various sectors of society. At the center of the team is Yoon Yi Rang, portrayed by Park Min Young — a mastermind swindler with razor-sharp intelligence and charm.
Park Min Young’s casting is already drawing significant buzz. According to production studio HIGROUND, her involvement symbolizes more than just another leading role. “Having Park Min Young lead Amazon’s first Korean original is a groundbreaking achievement,” a representative stated. “It not only highlights her global appeal but also signals a major turning point for K-dramas on international platforms. We’re excited for audiences around the world to discover this fresh and dynamic series.”
Filming for the 12-episode drama commenced in September 2024 and recently concluded. With production now complete, The Confidence Man KR is on track for a highly anticipated release in the latter half of 2025.
