Former Prime Minister and Chair of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has started recording his statement at the Special Court on Wednesday in connection with the Patanjali land exchange case.
The hearing is taking place at Bench No. 2 of the Special Court, led by Judges Tej Narayan Singh Rai, Ram Bahadur Thapa, and Bidur Koirala. Nepal appeared in person after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case against him on Jestha 22.
He had earlier requested permission to be present for his own statement, which the court granted. Following this, the schedule was set, and the statement process has now begun.
His legal team is aiming to complete the statement process quickly. Once completed, the court is expected to proceed with the detention-related hearing.
