Pawandeep Rajan, the winner of Indian Idol 12, was involved in a tragic accident on May 5 near Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, while en route to Delhi to catch a flight for an event in Ahmedabad. He was swiftly taken to the hospital for medical attention. On May 6, his team provided an official health update, revealing that the singer was still in the ICU following multiple surgeries.
According to the latest update shared on Pawandeep Rajan’s Instagram story, his team informed fans that the 28-year-old singer had undergone three additional surgeries, which lasted a grueling eight hours. The statement mentioned that Pawandeep remained under close observation in the ICU and would stay there for a few more days. The team expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers, adding, “The healing and recovery process has now begun, and we ask everyone to continue praying for his swift recovery.”

Alongside the team’s update, Pawandeep’s close friend, Govind Digari, also shared an encouraging update on social media. Posting a photo of Pawandeep resting in the hospital with a faint smile, he wrote, “With all your blessings, Pawan is doing much better now.”
For those unaware, Pawandeep’s accident occurred when the car he was traveling in collided with a stationary truck near the Chopla Chauraha overbridge in Moradabad. He was accompanied by his friend, Ajay Mehra, and their driver, Rahul Singh, in an MG Hector. According to police reports, the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, which led to the car veering off course and crashing into the truck.
Fans and well-wishers continue to send their prayers and hopes for the singer’s recovery as he remains in the ICU.
