The PCB has imposed a one-year ban on Corbin Bosch.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch from playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for one year. This decision was announced on Thursday after Bosch broke his contract with Peshawar Zalmi to join the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Why Did Corbin Bosch Leave Peshawar Zalmi?

Bosch, who is 30 years old, was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the PSL 10 Draft held in Lahore on January 13. Despite signing with Zalmi, Bosch decided to leave and join Mumbai Indians as a replacement for injured South African bowler Lizaad Williams.

PCB Highlights Importance of Commitment

In an official statement, the PCB confirmed Bosch’s ban and stated that he will not be allowed to play in next year’s PSL. The board stressed the importance of honoring contracts and showing professionalism when players agree to play for PSL teams.

Corbin Bosch Issues an Apology

After the punishment was announced, Bosch apologized through a statement released by the PCB. He expressed deep regret for his actions and apologized to the people of Pakistan, Peshawar Zalmi fans, and the cricket community.

“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community,” Bosch said.

He added that the PSL is a prestigious tournament and acknowledged the disappointment caused by his actions. Bosch accepted full responsibility and stated that he is ready to learn from this experience.

Bosch’s International and Franchise Cricket Journey

Corbin Bosch made his international debut for South Africa in December 2024 during an ODI match against Pakistan in Johannesburg. Since then, he has played one Test and two One Day Internationals (ODIs) for South Africa.

Although his international career is still new, Bosch has gained attention in franchise cricket. He was a key player for MI Cape Town in the SA20 2025 tournament, helping Rashid Khan’s team win the title with strong all-round performances.
