A 55-year-old woman has died after being struck by a bus in Shuklaphanta Municipality-1, near Bansaha, Kanchanpur.
The deceased has been identified as Draupati Bhatt of Ganeshpur, the same ward.
She was hit by a bus (Su.Pa. 02001 Kha 929) that was heading from Belauri to Mahendranagar, according to DSP Tek Bahadur Jora of the Far-Western Province Traffic Police Office, Attariya.
Bhatt was rushed to Nisarga Hospital in Dhangadhi, where she died during treatment.
Her body has been sent to Seti Provincial Hospital for post-mortem.
The bus driver, 38-year-old Jagat Chaudhary of Shuklaphanta Municipality-10, has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway, police said.
