A petition has been filed at the Patan High Court claiming that social activist Ashika Tamang has been illegally detained by the government.
Lawyer Manisha Gautam filed the petition, which will be heard on Friday. The petition’s registration number is 0015.
According to the petition, the Gaushala Police Office arrested Tamang on Wednesday and kept her in custody, violating her freedom of expression.
The petition states that she was arrested without being given an arrest warrant and her relatives were not allowed to meet her. Lawyer Gautam filed the petition requesting a court order to present Tamang before the court.
