Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Fagu Purnima to all Nepalis, both at home and abroad.
Through social media platform Facebook, he conveyed his best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters, mentioning that this festival of joy and enthusiasm is also celebrated as Basantotsav (Spring Festival) and Madanotsava (Festival of Love).
In his message, Prime Minister Oli highlighted that Fagu Purnima is celebrated as the Holi festival and that this full moon of the spring season is regarded as a day of nature’s rejuvenation. He mentioned that after winter, the arrival of spring brings blooming flowers and the cheerful chirping of birds, making the environment delightful.
“Fagu Purnima is also known as Basantotsav and Madanotsava. In our ancient scriptures, the Vedas, the moon is regarded as the deity of the mind. It is believed that the emotional surge in the mind awakens the elements of nature and existence, making creation seamless. During this season, all living beings and plants are believed to exhibit a lively nature,” the Prime Minister wrote on Facebook.
“Wishing everyone a joyful and enthusiastic festival of Fagu Purnima! Happy Holi!”
