Police have started an investigation following the death of a person held at a correctional facility in Badegaon, Lalitpur.
Dawa Ghising, who was from Sindhupalchok, died, and the police are investigating the case, according to SSP Shyam Krishna Adhikari, the head of the Lalitpur District Police Office.
He said, “He passed away on Saturday night while being taken to the hospital. Currently, the postmortem is being done at the Teaching Hospital.”
The family raised doubts about his death and informed the police, which led to a police team starting the investigation. During the investigation, three people, including two who were taking him to the hospital on a motorcycle and one of the facility’s operators, were taken into custody.
SSP Adhikari stated, “We brought them in to understand the situation. Questioning is ongoing.” He added that the cause of Ghising’s death will be determined after the postmortem report is received.
