Politburo Member Bidur Sapkota Passes Away During Treatment

Bidur Sapkota, a politburo member of CPN (Unified Socialist) and Bagmati Province co-incharge, has passed away during treatment.

After experiencing sudden health issues, he was admitted to Helping Hands Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 3:50 AM on Thursday.

Sapkota played a key role in the anti-Panchayat movement, went underground during the communist struggle, and was active in the 2046 BS. People’s Movement through student politics. He also served as the secretary of UML Kavrepalanchok for a long time.

After the UML split under Madhav Kumar Nepal’s leadership, he became a politburo member and Bagmati Province co-incharge of CPN (Unified Socialist).

Sapkota was elected in the 2070 Constituent Assembly elections from Constituency No. 4.

His body will be kept at the party’s central office in Aloknagar, Tinkune, until 10:00 AM for final tributes before being cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat, according to CPN (Unified Socialist).
