Power Outages in Kathmandu for Eight Days as NEA Moves Power Lines Underground, Full Schedules

Power Outages in Kathmandu

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced scheduled power cuts in different parts of Kathmandu for the next eight days, starting today. The outage is necessary to shift the existing electrical distribution lines underground, according to NEA.

Electricity supply will be disrupted from 11 AM to 4 PM in areas covered by the Kuleshwor, Baneshwor, Jorpati, and Kirtipur distribution centers.

Here is the schedule of power cuts in different locations:

  • Monday: Bhatkekopul Bridge (Chabahil)
  • Tuesday: Kalanki Land Revenue Office area
  • Wednesday: Balkumari, Imadol, Lubhu
  • Thursday: Naikap to Balambu
  • Friday: Balkhu to Chobhar Gate
  • Sunday: Jorpati feeder (Baba Chowk to Cricket Stadium)
  • Next Monday: Gaushala Chowk to Old Baneshwor
  • Next Tuesday: Ratopul to Gaushala

NEA has apologized for the inconvenience and assured that there will be no power cuts if the weather conditions are unfavorable for the work.
