Preeti Rai Arrives in Ilam for Gold Cup Match Against NPC

Star player Preeti Rai has arrived in Ilam for the semifinal match of the 2nd Current International Women’s Gold Cup. She will represent APF FC in their clash against Nepal Police Club (NPC) today (March 6). The match will kick off at 2:00 PM and will be broadcast live on GoalNepal.com’s Facebook and YouTube, as well as Mission Ilam’s Facebook page.

Road to the Semifinals

APF FC booked their place in the semifinals with a massive 14-1 victory over Mother Teresa FC, UP. Meanwhile, NPC defeated Bagmati Youth Club 3-1 in a penalty shootout after a tough contest.

On the other side, Tribhuvan Army Club has already reached the final after a 2-0 win over hosts Oasis Club. The winner of today’s match will face them in the final.

Exciting Clash Ahead

The semifinal between APF FC and NPC is expected to be a thrilling battle. Along with Preeti Rai, Nepal national team defender Gita Rana has also joined APF for this crucial match. APF FC features several top Nepali women’s internationals, including Saru Limbu, Anita Basnet recent “Player of the Tournament” winner from the International Women’s Championship, Renuka Nagarkoti.

According to the tournament organizers, ticket sales for APF’s previous match generated around NPR 3,85,000. With Preeti Rai, also known as the “magician of Nepali football,” arriving in Ilam, they expect an even higher turnout today.
