The Department of Transport Management has announced the indefinite suspension of the printing of essential driver’s licenses. According to a notice released on Sunday, the department has stopped the printing process from the 25th of Baishakh due to technical issues with the printing system.

Who is Affected by the Suspension?

This suspension impacts Nepali citizens traveling abroad for study and employment, Nepali Army and Nepal Police members being deployed for peacekeeping missions, and Non-Resident Nepali citizens. These groups were previously eligible to receive essential driver’s licenses.

The department stated that the suspension was necessary due to ongoing technical problems with the printing system. The notice emphasized that printing would not resume until further notice, as the issue is being worked on.
