Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra took to social media to mourn the loss of her uncle, Raman Rai Handa, who passed away on June 16 in Mumbai. Raman Handa, a respected advocate at the Delhi High Court and father of actress Mannara Chopra, died following an illness, though specific details were not disclosed.
Sharing her condolences on Instagram, Priyanka posted a heartfelt message alongside a photo:
“You will always be in our hearts. Rest easy, Raman uncle (fufaji).”

Mannara Chopra confirmed the heartbreaking news through an emotional statement on her Instagram Story, writing:
“With profound grief and sorrow, we inform the sad demise of our loving father, who left us for his heavenly abode on 16/06/2025. He was the pillar of strength for our family.”
The funeral rites are scheduled to take place on June 18 at 1 PM at the Crematorium Ground in Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai.
Raman Rai Handa is survived by his wife Kamini, and daughters Mannara and Mitali. He was also closely related to global icon Priyanka Chopra, being her paternal uncle.
In a related reaction, Mannara’s cousin Meera expressed her shock, saying, “He was fine, don’t know what happened.”
Mannara, who made her acting debut with the Bollywood film Zid, later transitioned to the South Indian film industry and gained wider recognition through her appearance in Bigg Boss 17. She is currently a part of the show Laughter Chefs – Unlimited Entertainment Season 2.
