Season 2 of Citadel, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, is set to debut globally in the second quarter of 2026, confirmed Amazon MGM Studios. In a surprising twist, the planned international spin-offs Citadel: Honey Bunny (India) and Citadel: Diana (Italy) will no longer remain standalone series. Instead, their storylines will be integrated into the main Citadel series in Season 2.
This marks a departure from Amazon’s earlier strategy of creating separate international spin-offs. Despite the success of both Honey Bunny and Diana, Amazon has opted to merge their narratives into one unified global storyline. As reported by Variety, this decision reflects a shift in the franchise’s direction.
Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, stated, “After exploring India and Italy, the storylines from Honey Bunny and Diana will be seamlessly incorporated into the second season of the main Citadel series.”
Both spin-offs saw notable success, with Honey Bunny emerging as Prime Video’s most-watched show globally during its debut weekend in November, and Diana achieving the best launch for an Italian original series on the platform in October. Despite this, Amazon has chosen to retire these spin-offs as independent series.
While the individual spin-offs won’t continue, Sanders assured fans that Season 2 of Citadel would deliver even more thrilling moments. The new season promises high stakes, intense storytelling, and the addition of new cast members.
Amazon also unveiled the logline for Season 2: “One month after the events of the first season, the Citadel agents are forced into hiding as they’re hunted by Manticore agents. They are called back into action to team up with an unconventional group of spies when Brazilian billionaire Paulo Braga threatens to unleash a devastating piece of technology created by Citadel’s own Bernard Orlick.”
According to Sanders, viewers can expect an action-packed season filled with deep emotional journeys for the characters, including Nadia, Mason, and Orlick, as they battle the ever-present threat of Manticore.
