Popular YouTuber Purav Jha, known for his spot-on mimicry of celebrities, recently revealed that he had to take a two-month break from X (formerly Twitter) after receiving threats from fans of fellow YouTuber Elvish Yadav.
What Led to the Backlash?
The controversy began when Elvish’s fans urged Purav to mimic Elvish’s acting. Purav, also called the ‘Human AI of India,’ responded via Instagram stories, clarifying that he is not Elvish Yadav. This statement didn’t sit well with Elvish’s fans, leading to a wave of trolling and hate messages against Purav on social media.
Purav Jha’s Experience with Online Hate
In an interview with ABP Live, Purav shared his ordeal, saying, “I was trolled a lot. Elvish’s fans are very active on Twitter, so I decided to uninstall the app. At first, I used to focus on negativity, but if you want to grow in life and work, you need to ignore such things. I noticed my Twitter was constantly buzzing with hateful messages and threats. People were saying things like, ‘We will do this to you, we will do that, we’ll come to your house and beat you.’ So, I simply uninstalled Twitter.”
After a two-month break, Purav reinstalled Twitter and found that the trolling had died down. Sharing a lesson from his experience, he added, “These things happen, but if you want to work, you need to learn to ignore them.”
Elvish Yadav’s Response
As of now, Elvish Yadav has not responded to Purav’s claims.
