Qualcomm has announced a Snapdragon launch event scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, 2025. At this event, the company will unveil its next-generation flagship chipset. While it is not expected to be an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it will serve as a successor to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which powered popular smartphones like the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Honor 200 Pro, and Poco F6.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Features and Specifications
According to recent leaks, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip will have a 1+3+2+2 core architecture. Here are the details of the core configuration:
- 1 Cortex-X4 prime core running at 3.21 GHz
- 3 Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 3.01 GHz
- 2 Cortex-A720 cores at 2.8 GHz
- 2 Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.02 GHz
The chipset will also include an Adreno 825 GPU, which is similar to the Adreno 830 seen in the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but with fewer cores. Additionally, the 8s Gen 4 will feature 6MB of SLC cache and 8MB of L3 cache. The chip is expected to score over 2 million points on AnTuTu, showcasing its powerful performance.
Phones Launching with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
The first smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 are expected to launch in April. Among the leading devices will be the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which are set to showcase the new chipset.
