Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane is set to file an appeal today against the order issued by the Kathmandu District Court regarding the case related to the misappropriation of savings in Swarnalakshmi Cooperative.
According to sources, he will submit the appeal at the Patan High Court at 11 AM today.
Swarnalakshmi Cooperative has been accused of embezzling NPR 1.19 billion (1,19,30,90,493) belonging to 690 depositors. In connection with this case, Lamichhane was implicated and ordered to be released on bail of NPR 6 million by the Kathmandu District Court on Magh 2 (mid-January).
The government had filed a petition at the Patan High Court, claiming that the order issued by a single bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari to release Lamichhane on bail was flawed.
