Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has denied any involvement in a cooperative fraud case, making a statement in court on Thursday. In his remand statement at the District Court of Kaski, he asserted that he was not involved in the fraud. As his statement remains incomplete, further questioning will continue on Friday. The detailed statement has not been fully disclosed.
Based on a 90-day investigation, the police had filed charges against Lamichhane for cooperative fraud, money laundering, and organized crime. The remand hearing is currently underway in court.
Earlier, Lila Pachhai, who was also implicated in the cooperative case, had provided her statement. The statements of Chhabilal Joshi, the former DIG and operator of Gorkha Media, were taken on Monday and Tuesday.
