Rabi Lamichhane’s Court Hearing Finally Nears Will His Case Be Heard This Time

The Supreme Court has officially listed Rabi Lamichhane’s habeas corpus petition for hearing under the bench of Justices Nahakul Suvedi and Balkrishna Dhakal. This marks a significant step in the ongoing cooperative fraud case that has placed the Rastriya Swatantra Party president and former Home Minister behind bars.

Lamichhane is currently in pre-trial detention at Bhairahawa Jail, Rupandehi, in connection with a major cooperative scam. Despite several previous attempts to schedule a hearing, the case had not been heard due to complications with bench availability.

Now, for the second time, the case has been listed on the hearing schedule—this time in the second position, increasing the chances that it will finally be addressed.

Alongside Lamichhane, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, also in custody for the same case, has his petition scheduled under the same bench.
