Bharatpur Hospital is facing a shortage of rabies vaccines amid high demand. Medical Superintendent Dr. Krishna Prasad Paudel said the hospital vaccinates between 180 to 200 people daily against rabies.
However, the recent government supply of 400 vaccine vials is insufficient and lasts less than four days. Dr. Paudel explained that when government supplies run out, individuals often have to buy vaccines privately.
Local health centers have received some vaccines from the public health office, and 240 vials have been allocated temporarily to these centers. Dinesh Rupakheti, Head of the Chitwan Public Health Office, said more vaccine supplies are expected soon from the provincial government.
Although there was some difficulty earlier in Khairahani municipality, the situation has stabilized for now.
