Rainfall Continues in Western Nepal

It is currently raining in the western parts of Nepal. The rain system is moving eastward from Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the rain clouds are shifting from the west toward Lumbini Province.

The department has warned that thunderstorm clouds are entering Nepal from the west, and there is a chance of lightning and rain in some areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces. People in these areas are advised to stay alert.

At present, western and local winds are affecting Nepal’s weather, with some influence from moist air coming from the Bay of Bengal. These weather conditions are causing cloudy skies and rain, which is likely to continue for a few more days.

Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar said that there will be clouds and light to scattered rain for the next three days. “It won’t be heavy rain, but light to occasional showers are likely during this period,” she said.

The latest weather bulletin from the Department’s Forecasting Division also mentions cloudy skies and chances of light rain across many parts of the country this afternoon.

There is also a possibility of light rain in Kathmandu today.
