A serious accident disrupted the shoot of The India House, an upcoming period drama produced by Ram Charan, after a massive water tank burst on set near Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The mishap left several crew members, including an assistant cinematographer, injured and caused significant damage to the production setup.
According to reports, the incident occurred during the filming of an ocean simulation scene. A large tank holding thousands of litres of water suddenly ruptured, unleashing a powerful surge that swept through the set. The force of the water knocked over crew members and submerged equipment, creating a flash flood-like situation.
A viral video circulating on social media shows crew members frantically trying to save valuable camera and lighting gear from the deluge. Despite their efforts, parts of the elaborate set and high-end filming equipment sustained heavy damage.
Several technicians and the assistant cinematographer were injured in the accident. They were quickly rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad and are currently undergoing treatment. Their condition remains under observation.
In response to the accident, filming has been temporarily suspended. The production team has launched an internal investigation to determine the cause of the tank failure and assess whether proper safety protocols were followed.
As of now, producer Ram Charan has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
Directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna, The India House is set against the backdrop of pre-Independence India and features Nikhil Siddhartha and Saiee Manjrekar in lead roles, with veteran actor Anupam Kher in a pivotal part. The film is being co-produced by Vikram Reddy and Abhishek Agarwal.
