Actress Raveena Tandon is ready to make her much-awaited return to Tamil cinema with the upcoming courtroom drama Lawyer, starring Vijay Antony in the lead. The film is directed by Joshua Sethuraman and produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Raveena revealed she’s both “excited and nervous” about her comeback. “I’m excited and nervous because I know I have to brush up my Tamil all over again,” she said.
Raveena, who previously starred in Tamil films like Saadhu (1994) and Aalavandhan (2001), shared her long-standing admiration for South Indian cinema. “Right from 1992, I’ve always found South films intriguing. Their stories are so deeply rooted in their culture and heritage. They’re not trying to serve the West, and that’s why their films often become hits. There’s a real mass connection,” she explained.
The actress, who was last seen in the South with KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), has also worked in Telugu and Kannada industries.
Lawyer began shooting in June 2025 and will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. The film is set against the backdrop of the legal system and revolves around a gripping courtroom case. Updates on the full cast and crew are expected soon.
