The import of routers in Nepal has seen a notable rise. According to the foreign trade statistics released by the Department of Customs for the fiscal year 2081/82 (up to the month of Poush), routers worth NPR 946.8 million were imported by the end of Poush.
The report states that a total of 366,880 routers were imported within this period, amounting to the aforementioned value.
From these imports, the government collected revenue of NPR 176.086 million during this timeframe. As per the statistics from the Department of Customs, routers were imported from only 10 countries, including neighboring China and India.
During this period, the highest number of routers came from China, with 365,795 units worth NPR 938.094 million imported. Similarly, 881 routers worth NPR 5.866 million were imported from Taiwan, 81 routers worth NPR 13,000 from India, 67 routers worth NPR 1.904 million from Vietnam, and 50 routers worth NPR 242,000 from Italy.
2 routers worth NPR 375,000 were imported from Portugal, while 1 router each was imported from Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, and Qatar, with prices ranging from zero to NPR 283,000, according to the report.
