On July 17 KST, FNC Entertainment announced that actor Rowoon‘s mandatory military enlistment has been postponed due to an unexpected medical classification.
Originally scheduled to enlist as an active-duty soldier on July 21, Rowoon underwent a routine physical examination by South Korea’s Military Manpower Administration (MMA) about two weeks ahead of his enlistment. During the exam, he was classified as rank-7 — a status requiring a full reexamination to determine eligibility for active duty.
FNC Entertainment shared that Rowoon immediately appealed the decision and is now scheduled to undergo another medical check-up in early August.
“Rowoon hopes to serve as an active-duty soldier and fulfill his duty as soon as possible,” the agency said. “We will update fans once a new enlistment date is confirmed.”
Meanwhile, Rowoon is also gearing up for his return to the screen. He will star in the Disney+ historical drama The Murky Stream, which is expected to premiere in 2025.
