Ever since Stranger Things star Sadie Sink was linked to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have been buzzing with theories about her mysterious role. Could she be Jean Grey? Firestar? Or even the villain Menace? Rumors were everywhere—but now, there’s a surprising new twist.
New Leak Suggests She’s Playing a Superhero
In a recent episode of The Hot Mic podcast, insider John Rocha shared a major update. According to one of his trusted sources, Sadie Sink is set to play Mayday Parker, the superhero daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. Yes, you read that right—not a villain, but a next-gen Spider-hero.
Not Tom Holland’s Daughter—But Tobey Maguire’s?
Here’s where things get even more interesting. Rocha says that Mayday Parker in Brand New Day won’t be from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man universe. Instead, she’ll be connected to Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker and possibly Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane from the original Spider-Man trilogy.
“My source heard Sadie Sink is playing Mayday Parker. So, connecting to the Tobey universe. She’s his daughter,” Rocha explained on the podcast.
If true, this would open the door to a multiverse storyline, possibly tying Mayday’s universe to Holland’s Spidey in future Marvel films.
Who Is Mayday Parker?
Mayday Parker first appeared in What If…? #105 in 1998. In alternate comic timelines, she becomes Spider-Girl or Spider-Woman, inheriting her father’s powers and taking up the web-slinging legacy. She even appeared in animated form in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), but this would be her live-action debut.
What’s Happening Behind the Scenes?
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who is still finalizing the cast. Recently, The Bear star Liza Colón-Zayas was added to the film, though her role remains a mystery.
Meanwhile, the film is expected to begin filming later this year, after Tom Holland wraps up work on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
When Is the Film Releasing?
Marvel fans won’t have to wait too long—Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
If the rumors are true, Sadie Sink’s casting as Mayday Parker could bring a fresh and powerful twist to the Spider-Verse—and fans are here for it.
