Sardaar Ji 3 Row: Did Neeru Bajwa Delete All Posts and Unfollow Hania Aamir Over Casting Controversy?

Just days before its international release on June 27, Sardaar Ji 3 has found itself embroiled in controversy. The horror-comedy, featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, has come under fire online — particularly over Hania’s casting amidst ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan.

The backlash intensified after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Neeru Bajwa appeared to have deleted all promotional content related to Sardaar Ji 3 from her Instagram account. This move set social media abuzz, with speculation swirling that she might be distancing herself from the project. Unconfirmed claims also emerged suggesting Neeru may have unfollowed Hania Aamir, though there’s no concrete proof she followed her to begin with.

A screenshot from the Instagram page @Lollywoodspace, shared on Reddit, seemed to support the observation that Neeru had wiped her feed clean of Sardaar Ji 3 posts. Her most recent updates now promote her next film, Son of Sardaar 2, with no trace of her involvement in Sardaar Ji 3. This sparked a wave of reactions online — one Redditor noted, “Neeru Bajwa was one of the few Punjabi actors who openly applauded Operation Sindoor and Sofiya Qureshi,” while another praised her move, calling it “Brave! Respect for her.”

Neeru Bajwa has yet to comment publicly on the matter.

Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the controversy in an interview with BBC Asian Network. He clarified that the film was made before recent political tensions began. “Jab yeh film bani thi, tab sab theek tha… Producers ka paisa laga hua hai,” he said, emphasizing that the producers had already invested heavily. “Film bann chuki thi before tensions started,” he added, urging fans to consider the financial implications for those behind the project.

Directed by Amar Hundal, Sardaar Ji 3 is set in the UK and follows ghost hunters, played by Diljit and Hania, who confront supernatural forces in a haunted mansion. Neeru also plays a pivotal role in the film. However, due to the rising controversy, the film will not see a theatrical release in India and will only be released overseas from June 27.
