The much-anticipated film Sarzameen marks the first collaboration between Bollywood’s Kajol, rising star Ibrahim Ali Khan, and South Indian superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran. Directed by Kayoze Irani, son of veteran actor Boman Irani, the movie will premiere exclusively on the OTT platform JioHotstar on July 25 this year.
Karan Johar recently took to social media to officially announce the release, sharing a video with the caption, “Sarzameen ki salamati se badhkar kuch nahi. #Sarzameen, releasing July 25, only on @jiohotstar!”
Currently basking in the success of her recent horror film Maa, Kajol expressed her excitement about working with her co-stars. In an interview with Variety, she said, “This is my first time working with Prithviraj, and he’s an absolute delight on set. Ibrahim was wonderful too. It will be fascinating to see how the three of us come together on screen.”
Ibrahim Ali Khan also shared his thoughts about his experience working on Sarzameen. Speaking to Filmfare, he recalled, “The first day I ever shot for a movie was for this film, which hasn’t been released yet. Sharing the screen with Kajol and Prithviraj, who’s a huge star in the South, was incredible. Working with Prithviraj was truly life-changing — such a talented and humble person. I even developed a deep interest in South Indian cinema and hope to do a film there someday. Kajol was amazing, and although my first day was nerve-wracking, it was an unforgettable experience.”
