A heartbreaking incident occurred at Edify International School in Kalanki, Kathmandu, where a school van crashed inside the school compound, killing 9-year-old Sonakshi Yadav.
The van reportedly hit a pillar at the school gate while exiting, causing injuries to both students and staff. Sonakshi was rushed to Shahid Memorial Hospital but could not be saved, according to SP Apil Raj Bohora of Kathmandu Police.
Seven others were injured, including students Reshma Moktan (8), Neshia Thapa (9), Nikisha Dangol (9), Simran Khadka (11), and Premisa Ghartimagar (9). All are being treated at Nepal National Hospital.
The school principal, Suraj Pokharel (46), and van driver Harkabahadur Karki (60) were also injured and are receiving care at Vayodha Hospital.
