The much-anticipated action thriller Don 3, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has been in the news ever since its official announcement in 2023. While the film is yet to go on floors, production has faced multiple delays, with one major reason being the delay in finalizing the female lead.
Initially, Kiara Advani was announced as the leading lady of the film. However, after revealing her pregnancy earlier this year, Kiara decided to step away from the project to focus on her personal life. Following her exit, the makers reportedly considered both Kriti Sanon and Sharvari Wagh for the role.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the role has now officially gone to Sharvari Wagh. A source close to the development shared, “Sharvari and one more actress were in the running, but she ultimately bagged the role. The team at Excel Entertainment is thrilled to have her join the cast. Sharvari herself is very excited to be part of such a massive franchise, especially since it offers her something fresh, even though both Don 3 and Alpha fall under the action genre.”
As for the film’s timeline, shooting is expected to begin by the end of 2025. By then, Sharvari will have wrapped up promotions for Alpha, which is slated for a Christmas release. Ranveer Singh, meanwhile, is currently working on Aditya Dhar’s action film Dhurandhar. Director Farhan Akhtar will also be focusing on his upcoming film 120 Bahadur, set to release on November 21. Vikrant Massey, who is reportedly cast as the antagonist in Don 3, is expected to complete his other professional commitments before filming begins.
With the cast finally coming together, fans can look forward to Don 3 shaping up as one of the biggest action thrillers on the horizon.
