Bollywood icon Aamir Khan recently hosted a special screening of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, and the first wave of reviews is in—and they’re overwhelmingly positive. The actor, who also stars in the sports comedy-drama, was seen interacting personally with the audience at a theatre, thanking them for their feedback and sharing insights from the making of the film.
Audience Moved by Emotion and Message
In a video shared online, Aamir is seen engaging with viewers after the screening. Many moviegoers were touched by the emotional depth and sensitivity of the film. “You looked after many aspects of sensitivity. Kudos to the writer, director and the dialogues,” one viewer told the actor. Aamir responded, “It’s an important issue for all of us.”
Another viewer compared the film to Aamir’s 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, saying, “A very good film has come after a long gap. This will change perceptions.” A professional from Muskan Foundation, which works with differently abled children, praised the film for its message, saying, “Very well kept and captured messages. I really appreciate it.” Another viewer added, “The last twist was also great. You made us cry. It’s a beautifully made film.”
Behind the Scenes: A Conflict-Free Set
During his conversation with the audience, Aamir shared that the actors with special needs brought great joy to the set. He also emphasized that there were no creative conflicts during the shoot—something he described as rare. “I didn’t feel any difference working with the differently abled children,” he said, highlighting the inclusive and collaborative environment of the production.
About the Film
Sitaare Zameen Par is described as a spiritual successor to Taare Zameen Par, though this time it explores a different theme through the lens of sports and comedy. Directed by RS Prasanna (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan), the film features Genelia D’Souza and ten debutant actors, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, and others.
The story revolves around a hot-headed basketball coach who is tasked with training a team of differently abled children for a major tournament. The film is an official remake of the Spanish hit Campeones, and it promises to blend laughter, inspiration, and emotion into a moving cinematic experience.
Sitaare Zameen Par is set to release in theatres on 20 June 2025.
