Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) concluded their IPL 2025 campaign on a high note with a commanding 110-run victory over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Klaasen’s Rapid Century Sets the Stage

After winning the toss and electing to bat, SRH posted a formidable total of 278/3 in their 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive unbeaten 105 runs off just 39 balls, featuring seven fours and nine sixes. This innings marked the joint third-fastest century in IPL history.

Supporting Klaasen, Travis Head contributed 76 runs, while Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan added 32 and 29 runs respectively. Aniket Verma remained unbeaten on 12. Sunil Narine and Vaibhav Arora were the wicket-takers for KKR, claiming one wicket each.

KKR’s Response Falls Short

Chasing a daunting target of 279, Kolkata Knight Riders innings faltered, and they were bowled out for 168 in 18.4 overs. Manish Pandey top-scored with 37 runs, while Harshit Rana and Sunil Narine contributed 34 and 31 runs respectively.

SRH’s bowling attack was led by Jaydev Unadkat, who took 3 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs. Harsh Dubey also claimed 3 wickets, conceding 34 runs, while Ishan Malinga added 3 wickets to his name.

Season Wrap-Up

With this victory, SRH concluded their season with 13 points from 14 matches, while KKR finished with 12 points from the same number of games. The match was a testament to SRH’s potential and ended their season on a morale-boosting note.

As the league stage nears its end, only two matches remain: Punjab Kings vs. Mumbai Indians on Monday, and Lucknow Super Giants vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday.
