Sundarharaicha Municipality has recognized 12 married couples as “Dhukur Jodi”, a symbolic title representing love, loyalty, and lifelong partnership.
One couple from each of the municipality’s 12 wards was selected from a total of 48 applicants, based on criteria set by the municipality. These couples were honored with a cash prize of NPR 10,000 and a certificate.
Their names and profiles will be displayed at local ward offices for the next year as community role models.

- Ward 7: Baliram Chaudhary & Phulodevi Chaudhary
- Ward 8: Khagendra Neupane & Samjhana Neupane
- Ward 9: Yograj Karki & Himkumari Karki
- Ward 10: Bauddha Bahadur Dahal & Kalyani Khadka Dahal
- Ward 11: Bed Kumar Khawas & Kesawati Khawas
- Ward 12: Ambar Bahadur Magar & Tara Kumari Magar
Earlier, the municipality had published a public notice inviting couples to apply for the Dhukur Jodi recognition—named after the dove, a symbol of peace and faithful love in Nepali culture.
