Tamil superstar Suriya turned 50 on July 23, and his birthday became a grand celebration as hundreds of fans gathered outside his home in Chennai. Dressed in a simple white outfit, Suriya stepped out to greet the crowd, folding his hands and smiling warmly as fans cheered his name.
Videos and photos of the heartwarming moment are now all over social media. One viral clip shows the actor looking visibly touched by the love, waving at the crowd and taking in the massive turnout. Another video, taken by Suriya himself, shows him recording a selfie video from above, capturing the sea of fans on the street below. He blew a flying kiss and thanked everyone for making his day special.
Some enthusiastic fans even climbed walls nearby to catch a better glimpse of the star.

Suriya made his debut in 1997 with Nerrukku Ner and has since become one of Tamil cinema’s most loved actors. After 2022’s Etharkkum Thunindhavan, he made special appearances in Vikram, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, and Sarfira.
In 2024, he starred in Kanguva, playing two roles—a warrior and a bounty hunter. Though the film had a massive budget of ₹350 crore, it underperformed with a worldwide collection of ₹106.25 crore.
He bounced back with Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, which was praised by critics and earned ₹96.97 crore globally.
Currently, Suriya is filming Karuppu with RJ Balaji, where he will be seen in two distinct roles. He is also working on a new Telugu film with director Venky Atluri, marking his Telugu debut.
