The Bombay High Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on February 19, seeking a deeper probe into the deaths of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager, Disha Salian. The PIL also demands the arrest and interrogation of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray regarding the two deaths, which remain surrounded by mystery.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s Father Seeks Justice
Late actor Sushant Singh Rajputโs father, KK Singh, expressed hope for justice under the new Maharashtra government. Speaking to ANI on Saturday, he voiced his belief that the courtโs decision would bring clarity and resolution to the case.
“We had placed our hopes in the CBI, but timely action was not taken. Now that the matter has reached the court, we remain hopeful. We expect that the current government will ensure the right outcome,” Singh stated.
Reflecting on the emotional toll of losing his only son, he emphasized that Sushant could not have taken his own life. “It has been nearly five years, and as a father, the pain is unimaginable. We have heard various claims in the media, including mentions of MLA Aditya Thackeray, but only the court will determine the truth,” he added.
The Controversy Surrounding Sushant Singh Rajputโs Death
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. His demise sparked a nationwide controversy, prompting multiple investigations before the case was eventually handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The postmortem report, conducted at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital, cited asphyxia as the cause of death.
With nearly five years passed since the tragic incident, the PIL, filed by Rashid Khan Pathan, President of the Supreme Court and High Court Litigants Association of India, aims to push for further investigation and accountability.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s Legacy
Sushant, a talented actor and kind-hearted individual, left a lasting impact on Indian cinema. After dropping out of engineering college, he pursued a career in acting, beginning with theatre before transitioning to television in 2008. His Bollywood debut in Kai Po Che catapulted him to stardom, with his portrayal of MS Dhoni in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story marking a career-defining moment.
His final theatrical release, Chhichhore, became a blockbuster hit in 2019. Following his passing, his last film, Dil Bechara, an adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars, was released on an OTT platform, leaving fans and the industry mourning his untimely demise.
