Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker, known for her candid opinions, is once again in the midst of controversy. Recently, social media erupted with alleged anti-religious remarks attributed to her, causing a wave of backlash from online users. However, Swara has now taken to social media to refute these claims, labeling them as โfakeโ and calling out those spreading them.
Swara Clears the Air on X
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Swara shared screenshots of the viral posts that falsely quoted her as criticizing religious practices in both Hinduism and Islam. Responding firmly, she wrote:
“Both memes/posts are fake. Not sure why Sanghis feel the need to circulate fake statements attributed to my name. Iโve made plenty of genuine statements that will piss them off just the same! #FakeAlert.”
Her post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users. While some voiced support for her clarification, others continued to criticize her stance.
A History of Online Trolling
This is not the first time Swara has faced online trolling. She was recently criticized for speaking out against those who praised the upcoming Vicky Kaushal film, Chhaava. Despite the online backlash, Swara remains steadfast in expressing her opinions on social and political matters.
