Tamil actor Vishal gave his fans a scare after collapsing on stage during an event held in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred while he was attending the Miss Koovagam Transgender Beauty Contest on Sunday, May 11, where he had appeared despite feeling unwell, in a show of support for the community.
According to Times Now, the actor was suffering from a high fever and fatigue, symptoms made worse by his busy schedule and reportedly skipping meals. His manager, Hari Krishnan, confirmed that Vishal had been battling health issues before the event. Thankfully, he was swiftly taken to a nearby private hospital where he received immediate medical attention. He is currently stable and recuperating. No official statement has been released by his team as of now.
This recent health scare comes just months after Vishal recovered from dengue in January 2025. At that time, concerns were raised about his condition during the pre-release event of Madha Gaja Raja, a long-delayed film that finally hit theaters this year. Despite being unwell with a viral fever back then, Vishal appeared at the event and later assured fans that his illness was minor. He also dismissed speculation about taking a long break from work, stating that such rumors were untrue.
On the professional front, Vishal was last seen in Madha Gaja Raja, which was released on January 12, 2025, during the Pongal celebrations. The film, originally shot in 2012 and delayed due to financial and legal issues, finally saw the light of day after more than a decade. It was a surprising box office success, raking in ₹56 crore globally — ₹53.5 crore from Tamil Nadu alone and ₹2.5 crore from overseas.
Despite his recent health challenges, Vishal continues to show dedication both to his craft and to his fans, with many applauding his commitment. Here’s hoping he makes a full recovery soon.
