Teachers have expressed dissatisfaction with the agreement reached between the government and the Teachers’ Federation on Wednesday.
Teachers and staff from across the country had come to Kathmandu demanding the “Hand-to-Hand Act.” However, after the agreement was made without passing the act, the teachers expressed their discontent with the Federation.
The Nepal School Staff Council has even issued a statement opposing the agreement.
“We would like to inform everyone that the Nepal School Staff Council, National Committee, completely disagrees with the discussion held between the government and the Nepal Teachers’ Federation and the subsequent withdrawal of the protest programs. We strongly condemn any agreement made without the institutional stance of the Nepal School Staff Council,” the statement said.
The protest that had been ongoing in Kathmandu since Chaitra 20 came to an end following yesterday’s agreement.
