A tenant was murdered in Palpa over an unpaid rent of Rs. 1,400.
The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Rudra Bahadur Budhathoki. According to DSP Sunil Malla of the Palpa District Police Office, the landlord, 31-year-old Madhav Bisht, was responsible for the killing.
Budhathoki had been staying in Bista’s house in Tansen Municipality-11, paying a monthly rent of Rs. 500. The incident occurred on Wednesday after a dispute over unpaid rent. Bista, who had consumed alcohol, allegedly attacked Budhathoki with a sickle, leading to his death.
The police have taken Bista into custody and are conducting further investigations under the charge of murder.
