Police in Kailali have arrested three individuals after discovering illegal weapons and wildlife body parts during a house search.
A joint team from the Sudurpashchim Province Police Office in Dhangadhi and the District Police Office, Kailali raided a house in Bhajani Municipality–9, Aambadi. The house belonged to Dilip Karki, a 50-year-old local resident.
During the raid, police found different types of pistols, bullets, firearm parts, and parts of wild animals. Along with Dilip Karki, his 22-year-old son Bikash Karki and 30-year-old Suresh BK were also arrested. All three have been taken into custody for further legal action.
What the police recovered:
- One pistol marked “NF Baby”
- 11 rounds of bullets
- One magazine
- One unregistered .22 bore (Hornet) firearm with 24 rounds
- One homemade gun (katwa)
- One wooden part of a muzzleloader
- One container of pellets and one trigger for the muzzleloader
Wildlife parts found:
- Two bunches of peacock feathers
- Three deer antlers
Police said they are conducting further investigations to determine the purpose behind storing the weapons and animal parts. Possession of illegal firearms and protected animal parts is a serious offense under Nepali law.
